The Out Of Character Rules
_{things you need to know, regardless of where you are}

RULE 1:
The general rules are that you respect other members, keep cursing to a minimum, and obey the staff. You know, the basic character-based rules of almost any forum/board out there. They're easy to follow, and if you don't follow them, I'll call you a bad person with no morals and kick you out.

RULE 2:
In creating an original character, please don't make them the greatest person in the world, or the most miserable person in the world. No one's going to worship your character as much as you might, nor are we going to throw pity parties every time your character remembers its horrible past.

RULE 3:
One character per account. Use the character application when making your character, and do not post unfinished applications.

The In Character Rules

RULE 4:
Make good sized posts please. At least two hundred words, or two good sized paragraphs. Pay attention to grammar and spelling. The spell check is there for a reason, don't take it for granted. You can be in as many threads as you want (liquid time) as long as you can keep track of them.

RULE 5:
Mature content is NOT allowed in threads. If you are going take the liberty to put something that is considered mature content in a thread, it will most likely result in a ban. If you really need to do that, take it to the PM's. Keep in mind that posting mature content is a violation of the proboards terms of service, and risks getting the site taken offline. You don't want that to happen.

RULE 6:
There is positively no god-moding or powerplaying. People like to control their own characters, and really don't care about controlling yours. If you have that many problems with control, seek counseling. Both powerplay and god-moding are intolerable, and will get you banned.

RULE 7:
As to fighting in character: if you are planning on your characters getting in a scuffle, make sure that you either plan it or discuss it with the other player beforehand. A character only dies if the player of said character agrees to it. Your character can't dodge every time, nor can they hit every time. Get over it. If you need a ref for your fight, one of the staff will decide the winner through poll or roleplay skill.

Dragon Related Rules

RULE 1:
Males and females are EQUAL. I don't want to see anyone who thinks that their character should be able to do something over a character of the opposite sex just because of that fact alone. Pig-headedness is allowed in character personalities, but please don't take it on yourself.

RULE 2:
Both male and female can claim territories. The ruling in the separate territories works either way. A female can rule by herself or with a mate, and still be the prime ruler with the mate. It really doesn't matter. If your character claims a territory, you decide how the system goes. You may only have ONE DRAGON CHARACTER that is in charge of a territory at a time. In addition, other dragons CAN CHALLENGE YOUR CHARACTER FOR THEIR TERRITORY. This goes with the fighting thing. Please plan it out ooc beforehand.

RULE 3:
Each dragon, male or female, is allowed ONLY ONE MATE AT A TIME. We do not support dragon-polygamy here. If two dragons separate or one of them dies, then they may go find another mate. But please, for the sake of dragon-drama, no multiple mates. If you want to have a hatchling, check the hatchling page.

RULE 4:
Forcebreeding females is NOT ALLOWED. Dragons are intelligent creatures, and they are able to fend for themselves, male or female. No self-respecting female is going to be just sitting around while she is forced to lay eggs and hatch them. Just no.

RULE 5:
You can obviously customize what your dragon looks like, however, it cannot have some of the more special features that you can buy in the gemstones shop. If you are wondering about what you can and cannot put on your dragon, go to the Trading board and look at the Catalog. Whatever is in the catalog is NOT allowed on your application of your dragon.

Rider Related Rules
_{things you need to know if you're playing a rider}

RULE 1:
Riders can be any of the species that are humanoid. These are humans, elves, or shifters. Please remember that shifters being riders is greatly frowned upon by the society, so that you'll be prepared for any negative feedback in-character.

RULE 2:
Each rider can have only one dragon in their lifetime. If your character's dragon dies, they do NOT get another one. Dragons and their riders are bonded for life. Having another bond with another dragon would probably kill a rider on the spot.

RULE 3:
Once your rider is accepted, they will have to go to the Dragon's Peak to get an egg. Riders must have their egg for AT LEAST ONE THREAD before it hatches. This does not mean that they have it in one thread and it hatches at the end of that thread. The egg can hatch whenever you like, as long as you've played out one full thread with it first.

RULE 4:
Riders also play as their dragons. Enough said on that one. You can control everything your dragon does or says. It's yours.

RULE 5:
You do NOT get to pick what your dragon looks like! This will be a surprise when your egg hatches. You may make polite requests in your hatching thread, but it will not guarantee what they look like, or what species they are. An admin or mod will reply to your hatching thread and give you the stats of your dragon. Just put (HATCHING) in the title of your thread and we will know to be there. If we are not in two days, please politely PM one of us, and we'll get to it then.
