"AHHHHH!" Came the voice of boy, who only a few days prior had been granted leave by his parents to become a Rider; the most prestigious of all honors granted to any thing, or so he thinks. His legs and feet moved almost mechanically, trekking the vast amount of stairs at blinding speed. Though he only got through about half a thousand, his determination was set. This was his day! He was finally going to become something better then himself; going to experience what it felt like to be accepted by something other then his parents.
However, the 'road' would not be easy, as he found out after passing his 600th step, or around that milestone. He slipped, his rather fast and precise run before becoming extinct as he tumbled forward into a bush. The bush didn't actually hurt him, though the twigs and branches that were inside did a fair amount of cuts, but the fall itself (scraping against the floor and sliding into the bush) gave him a nasty burn across his cheek under his good eye. Of course it stung like all hell, making his eyes water in the process, but who the hell did anyone think he was!? He got back up, and with a vigour insurmountable compared to anyones, he resumed his journey at a slower, and more jog like pace.
Hours passed without consequence, the slight run he used before now slowed to a walk. He passed the 2500th step about a half an hour ago, or so he hoped. His counting had begun to dim with his senses; exhaustion crept in and he was tired. "They really know how to push a guy!" He said to himself, with more happiness then he thought possible at the moment. Yet, as he looked up, something he did quite often to figure just how close he was, he saw the end of the stairs!
Suddenly, energy burst into him; the fuel that was his adrenaline leading his legs, and cramped stomach into a run towards the top! As he arrived he bent over, panting much like a dog (only with his tongue inside of his mouth). He was sweating, that much was clear. "I DID IT!" He yelled to the heavens and hell below. He had conquer the mountain! He turned around awkwardly, placing his eyes upon where the elders lived and immediately got to his knees in a pseudo bow. "Oh great elders! I have come for an egg!" Of course, he was being overly kind of course; he had just arrived in sweat and tears and blood, soiling their great mountain. He had to do something. Snow caked his boots from parts of the stairway being covered in it (of course he waked over this at a slower pace then normal) and he felt extremely hot (despite being known as the Prodigal Sun), but here he was in all the 'glory' of the human race. What dragon would they present him?

THE SPIRITS HAVE HEARD YOUR CALL.A harsh wind blows past the aspiring rider's face, directing his attention toward a lone egg sitting on the rocks of the mountain. The egg is heavy and warm to the touch, in a burnt orange color with multiple black markings.
