Thrakk charged forth through the snow. In his snow leopard form, it was easy for him to travel. Many frozen skeletons were lying around. The anger and frustration of his kinsmen dying bubbled up. It was those evil humans that had attacked him and his kin. If there had been another great shifter warrior, there might still be other shifters in this area.

((I'm assuming this is Open for anyone. If it's not, let me know and I'll delete my post. Also, don't forget to keep your word count up)) Sky had gone searching for recruits to join The Shadow. He had looked in Morgana with no luck. After that, he headed for Turgus and, again, had no luck - despite how many people populated the city. It seems his trip out to find recruits had no luck, but it was not a worthless trip; the joy Sky felt from flying through the open air had made the whole trip worth-while. Upon leaving Turgus, Sky saw the snow-capped mountains in the distant. Too him, it looked to be only a little longer distance there than it was from Mogana to Tugus. Deciding it was worth exploring, Sky left his current post on top of a roof to head for the mountains. He had not explored the mountains much - sticking to forests he knew all too well. As the cliffs grew close, they were even more gigantic than he had original thought. It seems he would not have the pleasure of being able to fly to the top of these peaks, for he was certain to die before he reached the top. He was a strong eagle, but not that strong! Squinting, Sky could see skeletons lying in the snow on the top of a cliff. With some caution, Sky flew down and landed in the snow. He shifted into human form and started to look at the skeletons. They were definitely human. Despite his good eye-sight as an eagle, he had not even noticed a snow leopard nearby.

Thrakk slipped through a tight space between two rocks as his senses warned him of another presence on the plains. If it were a human then there would be another skeleton. The leopard senses were higher here than anywhere else. As he neared another figure, Thrakk shifted. Thrakk's long furred cape hung from his shoulders as the dagger slid from his sheathe. Thrakk snarled and hissed through his teeth. "Why are you intruding on these hallow grounds? This is my ancestor's home. If you don't leave then I'll kill you here and now." Thrakk held his ground, waiting for a response.

Sky jumped at the man's words. He had believed he was the only one around - the only one around who was alive, that is. He quickly looked in the direction of the voice to see a man in a furred cape. Where had he come from? Sky could have sworn he was the only one on this mountain. Why would anyone want to be up here for more than a day anyway?
"I am Sky. I saw these skeletons and came to explore. I did not mean to intrude or invade anyone's lands. I feared these skeletons were not only human ones..." he said as he took a small step back, but stood tall. If anything, he knew he had the open sky to escape in. The man wasn't close enough for him to worry about not being able to get away.

Thrakk was shocked when he heard this Sky say that he was worried about the bones not being human. There were other bones mixed in with these useless ones, but they weren't very obvious. Thrakk stiffened as he noticed the person look at the open sky. Noone had ever made it this far by foot, which meant Sky wasn't human.
Thrakk grimaced with determination as he thought about what he had to do. With no other way to succeed, Thrakk shifted. The snowy pelt of his cape lengthened and turned into the snow leopard's fur-covered flesh. Instead of staying still, Thrakk's tail flicked around and forward. Thrakk growled loudly. The snow leopard prowled around the lone humanoid.

When the man shifted into a snow a leopard, it was very clear to Sky why he had not seen this man before. In his animal form, Sky would have had a hard time seeing him from a distance if the leopard stood still. Surprise and hope filled Sky at learning this man was a shifter. Perhaps his trip had not been worthless after all. This shifter may be interested, and a leopard would be a good addition.
As the leopard drew closer, Sky jumped into the air. As he did so, he shifted and flew out of reach. He hovered there, unsure if the leopard was getting closer to attack. He was not ready to take that chance... After all, what good could he do against a leopard on the ground?

Thrakk roared his anger as Sky shifted into an eagle. It would've been easier if it had been a smaller bird. The problem was that Thrakk had no idea of this shifter's intentions. It would be easiest to fight as a leopard, but not this enemy. Thrakk shifted again, keeping his hand on the large saber-toothed bladed knife.
The safest place was a small cave a few feet away. It had actually been a palace throne room but now it was a cavern underground. Thrakk motioned for Sky to follow as he jumped down into the covered hole. Most people who had found the ruins were ruins themselves.
The shifter walked over to an old wooden door and opened it. Now rays of light entered the room as Thrakk sat next to a pile of bones and set his knife on the arm of the throne. He was the last of his people so he was king.

Sky hovered in the air as he watched the leopard shift back into human form and motion for Sky to follow him. As them went into the cavern, Sky was torn between following his instincts, which told him to fly away, and his curiosity, which told him to follow the other man. The shifter had given him no words of friendship, after all...
Deciding to go against his instincts and with his curiosity, Sky lowered back to the ground and shifted. Back on two feat, he followed the man into the cavern and through the door.
Piles of bones were all around the room and it seemed this man was alright with it. Was he the cause of these creatures' deaths? Sky was not sure whether or not these bones were from humans, shifters, or... some other creatures, but he knew for certain that he did not want to be added to a pile. "Who are you? Sky asked the man who now sat in what looked to be a throne.
