Brinzer opened her eyes and yawned, stretching in a catlike fashion on the sparkling sands of the eastern shores. It was very sunny today, although it was sunny most of the time on this beach. Much more pleasant than the beach on the western side; that place scared her too much to even venture in to it. But here the waters were clear and the waves lapped pleasantly against her feet and belly as she layed there contentedly. She surprisingly hadnt seen many other dragons around here, not even water dragons, although she would expect a great deal of them to hang out in such a nice place. Only so many could fit in a lake. She hadnt even seen a dragon to preside over the area, which was indeed surprising. She knew that there was one dragon in each region who ruled over their place. She had gone out to the reef, which was the main attraction of the place and the most likely place for said ruler to live, but it was devoid of other beasts. None of the caves along the cliffside looked inhabited by anything, and she had made one of them a little nest for herself. Lately she had been thinking that wouldnt it be grande if she could call this beautiful place hers? It was probably unheard of for one as young as her to do that, but she didnt see anyone else lining up for the privelage. Although there would surely be some soon, so if she was going to establish her territory she might as well do it soon.
After lounging about on the warm sands for a little bit to wake herself up fully, the young dragon stretched her wings and took flight. She glided over the waters slowly, admiring the sun glinting off the waves and eyeing the fish below the surface for one big enough that it might make a suitable breakfast. She was a sky dragon, but for some reason loved the water very much, and was as happy eating fish as she was cows or another large beast. Plus, half the fun was trying to snap them up out of the water. A little ways out, she spotted a rather large, not brightly colored fish, and lowered herself to glide barey above the water. Her talons skimmed the surface, making ripples that spread out behind her. As she neared the fish, she took care not to make noise that might startle it away. Brinzer opened her maw wide, and dove it in to the water to snap it shut around what she hoped was the fishes tail. When she drew her head back up, there was a fish speared through the base of its tale and wiggling around hanging from the purple dragoness' teeth. The youngling grinned and rose back up in to the sky, turning around and heading back the way she had come.
Soon, she had flown to the side of a sheer cliff, and in to the largest inlet. Inside was a circle of straw and dirt edged with rocks, and a few shiny things piled in the back corner. There was also a little area that had been burrowed in to and stamped down with dirt, and that was where the young dragon now laid, munching on her breakfast heartily. This was such a cozy little place. It was far enough up the side of the cliff that it couldnt be accessed without flying, and far enough out of the way that most would probably pass over it in favor of something a little easier to get to.
Brinzer's thoughts returned to what she had been pondering earlier, and she decided that yeah, she might as well claim this place. No one else seemed to be coming around anytime soon to do it, so she rose and padded over to the mouth of the cave. Surveying the rocks and raging water below, she let out a long roar, managing to spurt out a small jet of flame. It seemed rather unecessary, but it was a matter of ceremony. After loosing this roar, she yelled out over the deserted sea. "I claim the Eastern Sea as mine."
