Appearance

Pelt;; The main part of Scortatus’ hide is covered with hard, diamond-shaped scales that overlap, making sure that every inch of the soft skin underneath is protected. On his belly his scales are long and rectangular, being perfectly smooth to assist him in sliding along the ground.

Eyes;; Scortatus’ eyes are dark green with slit pupils, not unlike a cat’s. They’re shielded by bony ridges.

Build;; Scortatus has an extremely long and thin body. He has no legs, and so slithers along on the ground like a snake. His wings fold tightly against his body, and are surprisingly long when unfurled, though despite this he can only take off by leaping out of water or launching himself off a raised surface.

Extra;; The diamond-shaped scales that make up most of this dragon’s hide are mingled shades of grey and brown, giving him a speckled appearance, while the rectangular ones on his body are a pale cream.

Personality;; Scortatus is a strange old thing. He’s a very quiet beast, usually preferring to keep his thoughts to himself rather than present them to others, and he rarely gets involved in affairs that aren’t his own. He’s not anti-social as such, but he prefers small groups over large crowds. He sometimes comes across as a bit shy or lacking in confidence, but this isn’t entirely true, he just dislikes making small-talk.

But despite his seeming apathy towards company, Scortatus doesn’t like to be alone. Since leaving his family group some seven years ago, he has been looking for a dragon or group of dragon that he can form a companionship with. He dreams of owning his own land and leading a small group there, be it his own family or just a band of similarly minded dragons. He’s a kindly creature really, even if he can seem a little cold on occasion.

He’s not incapable of brutality however. His method of catching prey is, as you’d imagine, constriction, but his long body means that he’s just as capable of using this tactic on an enemy dragon. He doesn’t like to fight, it’s true, and he stops before he kills his foe except under the most dire of circumstances, but he’s good at it.
